Creative design is the central to everything we do.

The Way Forward was formed in 1995 to be a highly creative, identity design and branding company which was also friendly, honest and professional. These are still our guiding principles.

Over time, we have enjoyed working with organisations in markets as diverse as hospitality, education, mobile communications and property development. Our clients have included the BBC, Tesco, Travelodge and Shell and we’ve worked with multi-nationals, major public bodies and international design consultants.

 

We’re equally at home working outside the corporate environment: successfully working for charities, smaller businesses and consultants: who have all appreciated our ability to combine creativity with a very personal service.

As a design partnership, we have very different, but highly complementary skills; this ensures that our design solutions are highly creative, yet extremely practical and effective.

Richard Allibone Richard Allibone

Richard has a broad-ranging background in product and environmental design, having worked for Fitch and several other design consultancies. With a particular interest in exterior design, Richard’s designs have included furniture, architectural and street lighting for clients such as Post Office Counters, British Gas and BAA.

With a strong technology focus, Richard is the driving force behind The Way Forward’s web design and online marketing activities. An experienced, qualified photographer, he also runs Shoot Forward, a sister company specialising in high quality commercial imagery.

Beyond working, Richard is a keen sportsman: running marathons and cycling are his main distractions, unless there’s a new sports car to be test driven!

Paula Allibone Paula Allibone

Paula has more than 25 years’ experience in identity design and branding. A highly creative designer, Paula has worked for international consultancies such as Fitch, Addison Design Consultants and Brand Union. Over the years, her extensive client work has included the complete rebranding for Debenhams’ flagship store in Oxford Street, developing BP’s identity, rebranding all its retail forecourts and developing a complete retail identity for Shell. Paula lists T-Mobile, Travelodge, Little Chef and Compass Group amongst her clients.

Sporting challenges such as Race for Life, Moonwalks and charity runs keep Paula busy when she’s not working – and if time permits, she’s a keen overseas traveller.
